Laser Hair Removal FAQ 12

Are these treatments FDA-cleared?

Are laser hair treatments safe?

Yes they are! The ruby, alexandrite, diode and intense pulsed light systems were the first lasers to be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for hair removal.

About lasers being safe or not; FDA might not have approved them for public use, were they not safe!

That means to say that FDA approval of lasers in itself is a seal of safety and efficacy of lasers as a treatment method for removal of unwanted body hair.

However FDA approval (Just like any other method of treatment) does not and cannot guarantee that the treatment would be safe and effective on any individual, under any circumstances, no matter what!

As a general rule lasers are safe and effective, for removal of unwanted body hair - assuming that there are no special circumstances with the individual like hypersensitivity, any other disease or medication intake.

This may appear to you like a sort of diplomatic statement… but unfortunately that's how things are with lasers, with any other procedure or with life in general!
